Cookie Policy
Effective 11 August 2026
This policy explains how Wave & Wake (a trading name of Suibhne Ltd, company number 17300594, registered in England and Wales) uses cookies and similar technologies on waveandwake.com.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember who you are between page loads, or let it work at all when you sign in.
Cookies we use today
We keep this deliberately narrow. Right now, waveandwake.com sets only the cookies strictly necessary for the site to function:
| Purpose | What it does | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|
| Signing in and staying signed in | Keeps you logged in to your account as you move between pages | No — the site cannot recognise your account without it |
| Security | Cloudflare's security cookies protect the site against abuse and attacks | No — this protects every visitor, including you |
We do not currently set any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We measure site traffic using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design: it does not set a cookie, track you across sites, or build a profile of you.
Video
Some listings include a seller's video, hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Where we embed a YouTube video, we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies until you choose to play the video. Where we embed a Vimeo video, we set the player's do-not-track option, so it does not set a tracking cookie either. Once you press play, the video provider's own cookie policy applies to that session, not ours; you can read YouTube's and Vimeo's own cookie policies on their sites.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are hosted by us, not fetched from Google Fonts or another third party, so loading a page never contacts an external font provider or sets a font-related cookie.
No consent banner today, and why
UK and EU rules require your consent only for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the site to work, typically analytics, advertising and marketing cookies. Since we do not currently set any of those, no consent banner is shown.
That will change when we introduce marketing tools (for example, to measure the effect of an advert). Before any marketing cookie is set, a consent banner will appear, and non-essential cookies will only be set once you agree.
Controlling cookies yourself
You can block or delete cookies through your browser's own settings at any time. Doing so may stop the essential cookies above from working, which would prevent you from signing in.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when marketing cookies are introduced. The effective date at the top will always show when it was last updated.
